Hi, My husband and I have a layover in Frankfurt for about 2 days. We%26#39;re trying to figure out where to stay. We%26#39;re deciding between Continental Hotel, InterCity Hotel, Monopol Hotel, Excelsior Hotel and Quality Hotel.
Any help would be great! Thanks.

Hm, it doesn%26#39;t matter which one you pick, they%26#39;re all in the red-light district. If you must stay in that area pick the Ramada at the Eastern end of that part of town. It%26#39;s only about a 15mins walk to the heart of downtown from there.

Hmm, same old red light district area hotel thing. True all of hotels are more or less inside a area not worried about adult entertainment, but it nevertheless suprisingly safe. As near most train stations in major German cities you will find your fair share of weirdos, alcoholics and drugies nearby, you are unluckly to be mocked or experience crime (quite high police presence in this part of town).
Of the hotels above, it seems the Excelsior is offering the best value. For an affordable nice alternative I recommend %26quot;Best Western Alexander am Zoo%26quot;. It is near to zoo (you guessed it) and in a nice residential area. Cafés, restaurants and shops are a 5 minutes walk away on Berger Straße - there you can blend in with the locals. Used to live in this area, quite nice.

%26quot;unluckly%26quot;= unlikely

Thanks for the replies. Is there another area (outside of the red light district) that would be better at a similar price? We%26#39;ll check out the Zoo area. Thanks.
