Staying in Mitterfells

Hi,

My husband and I are traveling to Germany this June. We are staying in the Bavarian town of Mitterfells at the resort there. Can anyone tell me of possible day trips - we will have our own car. This is our first time to Germany. We would also be interested in any %26quot;must do%26quot; reseaurants, bars or places. Thanks in advance.

Unusual and excellent choice.

Regensburg has of course top priority.

Must do:

Boat trip from Kehlheim to the monastery and brewery of Weltenburg

Kallmünz (picturesque town with lots of artists)

Also great:

Passau

Landshut

Straubing

Going east there%26#39;s the vast Bayerischer Wald (Nature reserve), you can go hiking there for hours without meeting anyone.

Even Munich or Nürnberg wouldn%26#39;t be too far for a day trip, but it would mean pushing it and leaving not too much time in the respective city, depends on how you like to travel.
