Bayern ticket

I have researched the wealth of information on this topic and fully understand how the Bayern ticket works, however I have just one question. I plan to use this ticket for a day trip to Salzburg on a weekday in July. I want to depart Munchen Hbf on the 8.48am Regional Express to meet my planned tour commitements in Salzburg. While the time is marginally prior to 9 am I note from past comments that it is possible to purchase additional point to point tickets to the first stop after 9am, then the Bayern ticket will kick in. I have navigated the Bahn.de site but am unable to determine what this stop will be. Would any Munchen locals be able to name this stop and the additional ticket cost. Finally is this feasible and, more importantly, acceptable to the carrier? Thanks.

DB even recommends this on their (German) pages.

I.e. in this case you need to buy a p2p ticket to Grafing. For this trip the MVV tariff applies, thus the DB timetable will not show you the ticket price.

What you need is a 3-zone MVV single ticket: EUR 6,60.
