Cameras at Palaces?

I have seen a lot of notes on the websites of most of the palaces in Germany (Residenz, Nymphenburg, Herenchiemsee, etc...) which state that photography is not allowed inside the palaces. While that%26#39;s a real bummer, I am trying to find out is.....

I am assuming that you CAN bring your camera bags to the palaces and take pictures and video of the EXTERIORS of the buildings as well as the gardens, but can you CARRY your camera bag through the palaces once inside?, or will they make you put your equipment in a locker or in your car during the tours??? if so, how safe is it to leave your EQ?

Any help would be appreciated.

We just came back from Germany and London. While we didn%26#39;t go into the places you have listed, I can tell you the places we went in that didn%26#39;t allow photographs, you were still allowed to bring your camera in. For example, at the Neuschwanstein castle - no pics from inside, but we took pictures from the outside and from the open windows in the castles looking out into the land below. This was allowed.

When we went to one of the museums, sometimes they did ask that backpacks were places in lockers, but I think that was just big bags and backpacks. Cameras were fine.

Have fun! We LOVED munich!
