Neuschwanstein Friday afternoon or Saturday Morning

We are a group of five travelling down to Reutte from Munich. We are trying to plan our trip to Neuschwanstein et al.. Would it be better or rather less crowded to go on Friday early afternoon on the way to Reutte or on Saturday morning.

Any advice out there?

Auntie.

I would recomend Sat am There is a bus that will take you up to the castle but if you like a good hike walk it. If possible stay right in fussen it is beautiful. I live near the rocky mountains in canada so I know wonderful views when I see them. There is a italian resturant in fussen that is really good!

Just got back last Friday from Munich ,Fussen and Reutte.Usually early morning-8am or open for the castles.10am and on tend to fill up early. You can check on-line and get a scheduled time. You might be ok if you take the English tour-the demand for the German,French and Italian tours is fierce. After you do the castles walk the little town of Fussen. You can%26#39;t help but to love it.We enjoyed it more then Reutte,Austria.I hope you have a great time-we did.Just ask if you need any more info.?

Thank you so much. This is a big help.

Let me see if I understand correclty. It really doesn%26#39;t matter if we go Friday or Saturday. The big key is to order tickets before we go which will give us a specific time to go on the tour.

Is this correct?

Yes that is correct. To help you more-go to Ta Munich forum and read %26quot;What%26#39;s best way to tour Neuschwanstein castle?Posted May 9 by Marcopolo-it tells you how it works and has a web site to go toget a time.I think this will facilatate things for you .
