We are coming to Berlin for the first time in August and thinking about going to a concert . We would appreciate some advice. Is the pre concert dinner good, or would it be a better option to have dinner elsewhere %26amp; just go to the concert? Is the concert a good choice?
Thanks for your help.

As a citizen of Berlin, living near pretty close to Charlottenburg Palace, I must admit, I have never been to a concert there - but looking up the event on the Internet, it seems to me, that this is not a good deal.
First of all, it takes place at the Orangerie, which is a building opposite the palace, and not at the palace itself. Secondly, the menu offered is pretty simple fare. And the concert is performed by a no-name orchestra.
I%26#39;d recommend a concert at the Philharmonie (www.berliner-philharmoniker.de/en/home/) with dinner before or after at %26quot;VOX%26quot; or %26quot;Tizian%26quot; (…hyatt.com/hyatt/…index.jsp), %26quot;Midtown Grill%26quot; (http://www.midtown-grill.de/index.php?LANG=e) or %26quot;Desbrosses%26quot; (http://www.desbrosses.de/index.php?LANG=e) or - if you like a historical setting (OK, it is historical on the outside but inside it is really a history inspired kind of GDR Disneyland concert hall) - a concert at the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt (www.konzerthaus.de/start/index.php…) and dinner at %26quot;Bocca di Bacco%26quot; (http://www.boccadibacco.de/eng/index.html).

Thank you very much JanBerlin for this very helpful reply. We will look at the sites you have given us - plenty of food for thought!
