We will overnight in Weimar, and then head towards Hameln. We need to overnight someplace between Weimer and Hameln, possibly northeast or close to Kassel. What%26#39;s the most interesting town with good restaurants and nice old-city in that area?

I would recommend Quedlinburg or Goslar, lovely rather small old towns. Göttingen is bigger, with an old university. But they might not be close enough to Kassel? If it has to be really close to Kassel, then I think the most interesting town in the area is .... Kassel.
