Harz mountains & Spreewald

We have 8 days after Berlin in july is Spreewald worth a visit and also which is the best area to stay in in the Harz mountains to do some of the outdoor things ie cable car to top,spa, minature railway plus are there lots of guest houses to book on speck? thanks for any answers

Spreewald is defnitely worth a visit, but I think a day trip is sufficient. A good place to stay is the small town Lübbenau.





In the Harz mountains I prefer Wernigerode at the foot of the mountains. The steam train takes you easily up to Mt. Brocken and other hiking areas. It is a picturesque town and also has a beautiful castle.
