No, of course not. Amsterdam and Cologne are on different continents.

If you want to see whether there are advence dicount tickets left (there are offers for 29 Euro one way) see www.bahn.de or www.nsinternationaal.nl. If there are none left, yu can as well buy your ticket right at departure.

Thankyou, it%26#39;s late at night here and I probably could have phrased my question better!

I just wanted to ensure that there was a fairly direct route as I will be travelling with a 4 and 2 year old.

I%26#39;ve checked out the de bahn site and it appears you can only book 2 months in advance and we will be travelling in December so I will check back closer to the time to see if I can pick up the cheaper fares.

There is a direct high speed train that takes2 hrs 40 mins. I have just booked as first return for 78 euro to me well worth a bit extra.

It may be better to use bahn.de as the dutch site only seems to work properly in dutch!!
