Hi everybody. My wife and I will be in the Black Forest for one week at the end of this month ( May ), in our motorhome. Can anyone answer the following?
1/. Will we be allowed to %26quot;wild camp%26quot; in the forest?
2/. Can anyone recommend some campsites in and around the area?
3/. Is it possible to find parking for a 6 metre long m/home in any of the local towns/villages?
4/. What wildlife might we get to see in the forest?
5/. Any suggestions on %26quot;must see%26quot; places, preferably natural attractions, although not limited to them.
We will be carrying bicycles on the m/home so some out of the way places should be ok. Not too out of the way though as I%26#39;m in my 50s :o)
So many questions.
Thanks in advance, Nick.

1) No, it is just allowed for non-motorized campers and for one night only. If you stick to public parkings, e.g. hiker%26#39;s parkings (Wandererparkplatz) and leave them clean and tidy as well, usually no one will object. But occasionally those places can be particularly popular among car burglars, too

3) Not in the town centers. Most often you%26#39;ll have to park on the outskirts.
4) Black forest is relatively densely populated and the animals are as timid as fawns :-). I%26#39;m afraid you%26#39;ll be depending on the numerous game preserves. (Wildgehege)
5) Baden-Baden: Follow the signs to %26quot;Merkur Bergbahn%26quot; (Merkur Funicular Railway) ,
baden-baden.de/en/…324
where you can park the m/home easily and for free. It is also a safe place for an overnight stay. Nearby you%26#39;ll find a huge %26quot;Wildgehege%26quot; and innumerable kilometers of very good hiking/biking trails with beautiful views. Also don%26#39;t miss a ride on the funicular, it is great.
The buses No. 204 and 205 are going to the town center, but it is only a nice 20 min. walk, too. Hiking/biking maps for Baden-Baden region are available at the tourist information Trinkhalle. (Don%26#39;t try to get there by the m/home):
baden-baden.de/en/…300
You%26#39;ll find well signed hiking/biking trails all over the black-forest, accessible from the %26quot;hiker%26#39;s parkings%26quot;.
