Airport Layover- Leavign Airport

We%26#39;re stopping through Frnakfurt and transfering from a delta flight to a Croatian Air flight to Dubrovnik. We arrive at 9:30 am and depart for Croatia at 3:10 PM that day.

I cannot get a clear answer on whether or not we can leave the airport during this time and what happens with our bags. It seems like they are not checked all the way through and that we%26#39;d have to re-check them. Is this the case?

If anyone%26#39;s had experience with this, info on where or if bags can be stored and advice on the fastest way to get into th city please let me know, thank you!

If you bought both tickets at the same time, your luggage will probably be checked through to the final destination. If purchased separately, you will have to pick them up and recheck them. There is luggage storage at FRA, both terminals, you can find details at airportcity-frankfurt.com/cms/default/rubrik…

Delta should be able to tell you. Of course, you will know for sure when you check in and get your baggage check.

There is an S-bahn train (local light rail) station at the airport below Terminal 1, with trains to the Haupbahnhof downtown about every 20-30 minutes.

Considering how flights run, by the time you arrive and pass through passport control , make your way landside , get to the S-bahn and wait, say 15 minutes for a train, and then have to return at least two hours early for check-in, and, adding in time to store and pick up bags if needed--- well that doesn%26#39;t leave a lot of sightseeing time in town.
