In September I%26#39;ll be spending
2 nights in Baden Baden (for the opera), then
3 nights in Heidelberg (want to win the lottery and retire there)
then on the drive up to Dusseldorf/Weeze and the flight home we hope to stay at
Koblenz
Cologne and
Weeze
just for one night each.
I know it%26#39;s not long, so the journey is going to be as much the fun bit of the holiday as the cities we get to.
From Baden to Heidelberg, we%26#39;re going to go via Maulbronn kloster - is there anything else recommended on that route?
From Heidelberg to Koblenz, from Koblenz to Cologne and from Cologne to Weeze - are there some %26#39;must have%26#39; routes?
We love cities, especially churches, so we%26#39;re going to be fed to over-flowing by the cities we%26#39;re stopping off in! I%26#39;d just be glad to hear of some scenic routes to get there.
By the way, can anyone recommend a website where I can download a %26#39;German highway code%26#39;? (I%26#39;m the passenger, not the driver but I%26#39;d still like to know!)
Thankyou.

I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking for, but this may help:

Here’s a map (although I’m sure you already have one):

I am assuming that you want to stay in Weeze so that you have easy access to the airport. Other than that, there is no good reason to even go to Weeze. Düsseldorf is relatively close and there is a bus straight from the main station to the airport (€12, I think). Although Düsseldorf is not a %26#39;highlight%26#39; on the Germany tourist trail, it is still a nice town to spend a day and especially an evening in. If the weather is nice, go down to the river near the alt-stadt and have a beer or cocktail in one of the riverside bars and watch the people - very relaxing and typisch Düsseldorf!
