Hello,
My 20 year old daughter will need to obtain transportation from a yet unnamed hotel in Berlin (AIFS study abroad program) to Tegel for a 7:30 a.m. flight. Are the taxis safe and reliable at 5:30 in the morning as opposed to public transport ?

Don%26#39;t worry ... taxis are safe and reliable in Berlin. Public transport is also fine early in the morning. If it is during the week you%26#39;ll see the first people already on their way to work. On the weekend it might be quieter but it%26#39;s still safe. That said ... your daugther should also use her common sense. Berlin is a fairly safe city but it is a big city after all and there are the odd dodgy characters.
