Do any of you experts know where outside the city center some of the protests took place today? One report said in %26quot;an area popular with those on the left%26quot;. My son is in Hamburg by himself and I%26#39;ve narrowed down where he is to 2 hostels and I%26#39;m hoping the protests aren%26#39;t near either one! The last thing he said to me this morning (early afternoon in Hamburg) was %26quot;I%26#39;ve got to go, there%26#39;s a parade going by...%26quot;. I think he was just trying to get under my skin because he knows how worried I am that he%26#39;s there right now (not on purpose...a scheduling snafu), but when I heard the march had moved outside of the city center I wasn%26#39;t quite so sure. Anyone?
Thanks for helping a worried mom feel better (I hope!).

Hi Luker
There were demonstartions in St.Pauli and the Schanzenviertel. You%26#39;ll find St.Pauli on a map but not the Schanzenviertel as it is not an official district. The biggest part of it is in St.Pauli, smaller parts in Eimsbuettel, Rotherbaum and Altona. Please don%26#39;t be too woried about it. As long as your son keeps away from the demonstratrants and keeps in mind that they are no tourist attraction, everything should be ok.

Thanks for the reassurance! I just spoke with him and, except for what I%26#39;ve told him, he hasn%26#39;t seen or heard anything. Hopefully it will stay that way. I appreciate your advice...
