We are in Prague and Vienna for one week each in July. Have 3 days to spend in another city before heading to Italy. We are young %26quot;50s%26quot; and like history, architecture, and good food/drink. Any suggestions?

You have direct trains and flights from Vienna to Munich and then to Italy. Munich has a lot to offer in architecture (Schloss Nymphenburg, Residenz), museums of all kinds and restaurants. Also a lot of outdoor activities and beer gardens. (e.g. Augustiner Beer Garden near the main station), English Garden, Olympic stadion etc. etc.

After Prague and Vienna you don%26#39;t really %26#39;need%26#39; Budapest, Innsbruck is smallish and not sooo special, so I%26#39;d rather do Salzburg or Munich (closer to Italy anyway). Agree with previous poster, look for the connections from Vienna to town X and on to your destination in Italy and pick one that suits you best.
