Ok. I have another question. We may want to jump from Paris to Cochem and back to Paris. I am attempting to find fares for this via TGV. The DB shows the schedule, but no pricing. If I go to the TGV site it shows no train on the day I want to start? Clearly looking at the DB there is a scheduled train.
Departure from Paris to Cochem August 2 or 3
Return to Paris from Cochem August 7
I am trying to set my budget and I need to know ticket costs for this. I am assuming it is best to purchase these tix in advance. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Which route do you wan%26#39;t to take?
via Luxembourg (TGVs from Paris Est) and Trier
via Cologne (Thalys from Paris Nord)
via Frankfurt (ICEs from Paris Est)
www.thalys.com
For the other 2 routes check www.sncf-voyages.com. Best probably only to Luxembourg/Trier or Frankfurt. SNCF timetable dislikes too many changes and maybe also smaller towns abroad.
Esp. if you like discounted tickets you have to buy in advance.
If you need an extra ticket for Cologne/Trier/Frankfurt to Cochem you can buy this on spot.

I prefer the TGV via Lux since it is quickest. But I can%26#39;t get it to pull up on the TGV site. I have tried Paris to Cochem on SNCF which sends you to Thalys and it won%26#39;t pull up for me either.
I keeps telling me %26quot;No trains run after the time indicated%26quot; for the departure time. I have tried starting at 00 hrs all the way through the day. I know that they offer this route on that day, but none of the sites will work it up for me, except DB and they can%26#39;t give a price.

I got results for your travel dates for
Leaving from: Paris East
Going to: Luxembourg (LU)
In both cases it only worked for me after selecting exactly the same stations from the list in a second step while clicking on %26quot;or choose here%26quot;.
In the next step the station will appear as:
Paris Est
Luxembourg Ville
TGV connections are still on offer from EUR 15,00 for this route and your travel dates. But the system talks of %26quot;only few left%26quot;.
Normal price seems to be EUR 61,00. But there are a number of offers %26quot;in between%26quot;.
For Luxembourg to Cochem you can use a Tagesrückfahrkarte, a day return ticket from Luxembourg to some places in Rhineland-Palatinate
cfl.lu/CFLInternet/…
EUR 23,00
Slightly cheaper than single tickets.
Buy this ticket on spot in Luxembourg. No need or advantage of reserving or booking the Luxembourg - Cochem part in advance.

I did get it to work the way you explained. Thank you for your help! I was having a real time with it.
The raileurope site is about triple the cost for tix then if I use the DB or local european sites.
The sncf is in french. Will it allow me to purchase the tickets from the US?
|||
%26gt; Will it allow me to purchase the tickets from the US?
Yes. But only if you select that the ticket will be picked up in France. No shipping to the US.
Main reason for this: RailEurope is owned by SNCF

Wonderful! That is what I will do then. This really helps the budget :o) Can I pick them up at the station I am leaving from or do I need to go to an office to pick them up? Or have them sent to my hotel?
