I will be in Dresden for 4-1/2 days next week on business. Only day free is Monday after my flight arrives. Is it worthwhile to take the train to Meissen, or should I just stay in Dresden and see the sights? I%26#39;m a porcelain collector, and would want to fit some porcelain shopping into the day. Thanks!

I think you would enjoy a trip to the Meissen Porzellan Manufaktur in Meissen. You can go there by train or boat (probably more efficient to go one way by boat,the other by train).
Aside from the museum, they do a very clever job of showing how the porcelain is made. The artists are mum, but you are listening to an expalantion of what goes by your personal audio in your own language.
Obviously, you can also buy porcelaion there. The town of Meissen is quite attractive, as well.
