Has anyone taken European Delivery on BMW out of Munich? What was your experience? Did you travel outside of Munich too?

You have to travel on the autobahn to experience the car, and the road. But then, do you really want to take the brand new car and push it to the limit?
it%26#39;s much better to rent a BMW to experience the drive instead, and is relatively inexpensive in germany. That is if your main purpose for European delivery is the drive.

Yes, did it in May 2004 (330CiC) and recently in May 2007 (335i).
In 2005, drove Munich-Lake Como-Portofino-Venice-Fussen-Munich ... over 1600 miles in 8 days.
This year, drove Munich-Lk Como-Cannes-Lyon-Paris ... almost 1500 miles in 11 days.
It%26#39;s much more satisfying to drive your own custom-spec%26#39;d car on vacation, rather than a bland, ratty rent-a-car. Although people do it for the savings, I do it for the driving and travel experience (no better way to bond with your new car than on the European roads it was designed for).
Can%26#39;t wait to do it again in 2009 when the new, expanded BMW Welt (World) center opens.

Yes, we did it first time Oct 2006. Took delivery after 3 days in Germany and took to the road and put 700 miles on it in a week -- I we saw so much more than if we were bound to a train...and had the ultimate souvenier!
After we dropped the car off (in Frankfurt, since there are many places you can drop it off) we then took the train to Berlin and continued a fantastic vacation.
We can%26#39;t wait to do it again -- yes you save on the overall car but the chance to drive your car in Germany and then take it home with you is amazing!
