Frankfurt Airport area

If we are leaving Frankfurt on an 11 am flight, is it necessary to stay at the airport hotels? Dropped car off night before.

If not, how far from noisey airport is a safe distance to get there on time?

Suggestions for nice hotel in nice area of town for family of four needed.

Thanks,

You can stay as well in the city centre of Frankfurt.

The S-Bahn will bring you in 10-15 minutes to the airport (Terminal 1).

Single ticket is EUR 3,55. For children (6-13) EUR 2,15.

A mini group day ticket (2-5 persons) is EUR 13,70.

These tickets are valid from/to any train/tram/bus stop in Frankfurt.

The Intercity Hotel is closeby - they have free shuttles every 30mins to and from the airport. Decent hotel - www.agoda.com has good rates with breakfast included.

A couple of years ago we stayed at the the Steigenberger Esprix Hotel , currently the %26quot;Intercity Hotel Frankfurt Airport%26quot; , which is right on the airport grounds ( albeit a 10-15 minute trip though, since it is %26quot;out and around%26quot;) for a very reasonable price.

I just checked for our upcoming trip, and IF YOU GO DIRECTLY TO THEIR WEB SITE; rma.de/eng-rmaweb/… you can get some great ! rates.

It is a quiet and clean basic hotel........not exactly a wonderful place to eat........but my wife enjoys the rooms and the rates. We are looking @ a $68EURO room for the one nite that we lay over. Pretty good price!

Now I need to find out what the best way is to get to the %26quot;new%26quot; hotel.

LB Baron.........how did you find out about the FREE airport shuttle? (Where and when to find it at the airport) The hotel website has conflicting info...........it says to use public trans in one spot, and then the booking engine allows you to sign up for a free shuttle.

That%26#39;s the *official* website of the InterCityHotel Frankfurt Airport:

There are long-distance, high speed trains that run right to the Frankfurt Airport without transfers. You could get to the airport by 9am from either Mainz or Würzburg or other nearby cities, after dropping off your rental car the day before in those locations. It might make for a nicer last evening in Germany.

Hey Swick ... i just got back last weekend after a 2 week trip and stayed at the Intercity overnight when we arrived and when we left. The hotel shuttle comes in right out side the Arrivals area outside baggage claim in the middle median - Terminal 1 %26amp; 2. There is a large sign for HOTEL SHUTTLE buses and you will see Intercity on that list. The bus comes in every 30mins. It takes off from the hotel at 15 and 45 past the hour and reaches Terminal 1 %26amp; 2 approx 10 to 15 mins after that. I am not sure what their website has about this but I used the bus multiple times and its very convinient. Oh and did i say it was FREE .. yes the shuttle service is FREE.

We have stayed at the Airport Sheraton and will be staying there again in July. It is so convenient...particularly if you have an early flight. I found the best rates at the Sheraton site. Last year the Internet rate was 129euros. This year is 152e which is more but I find the convenience worth it. It is a very nice, modern hotel.
