Summer Baths

Hello,

I got some great advise on here before about a forthcoming trip to Berlin. I hope someone will be able to help with this query also!

Myself and my friend are travelling to Berlin in 2 weeks time. We are hoping for some nice weather and to get a day or twos sunbathing in. Can anyone please provide directions for our nearest outdoor pool where we could go to and do some sunbathing and swimming, perhaps one with a water slide etc.

We are staying in Apartments %26#39;Residenz Prenzelberg%26#39;. I have checked the web site for the swimming baths in Berlin but can%26#39;t seem to figure out which would be best for our needs and how to get there!

I had researched those web sites but was kinda looking for some personal reccomendations - perhaps a reccomendation of a good one, located not too far from where we are staying.

I live in another area of Berlin so I don%26#39;t really know the pools in that area.

At the Weissen See is an outdoor pool but it%26#39;s not directly on your doorstep.

The outdoorpool at the Plötzensee (Lake) is not in Prenzlauer Berg but you can easily get there by S-Bahn. I have never been there so I don%26#39;t know what it%26#39;s like. It%26#39;s in Wedding, a working class district of Berlin. The address is Nordufer 24.

In Pankow (not too far away from Prenzlauer Berg) is also an outdoor pool at Wolfshagener Str. 91-93

Solid8 might be able to give you better information.

If you don%26#39;t mind travelling for a bit I can recommend the following outdoor pools/lakes.

Outdoor pool at the Jungfernheide Lake at Jungfernheideweg 60 in Charlottenburg

Outdoor pool at the Insulaner, Munsterdamm 80 in Steglitz

My favourite lake for going swimming and sunbathing is the Groß Glienicker Lake in Kladow (which is in Spandau, Berlins most westerly district) but it would take you ages to get there, You can%26#39;t get there by S- or U-Bahn, only by bus.

We are looking at going to the outdoor pool at Hasenheide Park, it seems to be pretty near where we are located. Have you heard anything about that?
