We will be in Munich inJune and I wondered if anyone could recommend stores for locally made items. I love the wood carvings from the black forest area as well. thanks in advance

I%26#39;m from Munich but... sorry, I don%26#39;t know where you could get these carvings.
There are souvenir stores around Platzl (close to Marienplatz).
But if I were you I would ask in a department store before trying at Platzl.

There is a fairly large and reputable store selling wood carvings on the side street connecting Neuhauserstrasse (the major East-West pedestrian street from the Marienplatz) and the Dom (cathedral). I don%26#39;t remember the name of the store, but it%26#39;s a very short street. We bought a wooden creche there.
