Car rental

Hi

We are renting a car at the Munich airport and driving around Europe.Do we need to purchase any kind of insurance on top of what we get from the rental company? We are renting from Auto Europe.

There are some restrictions. Most rental companies won%26#39;t allow you to drive to Eastern European countries. Also not with luxory cars to Italy.

No. Some credit cards do even cover things, which the rental companies sell you for good money.

Make sure that the car you rent has GPS in it. It make driving sooo much easier. They have several diff Lang in them. So no problem make them work . Also a good map to help with spelling of town and Germany has several town with the same name or almost the same.

whether you need to get extra insurance depends on yourself. Are you comfortable with the $500, $1000 or $5000 deductible? Does any of your premium credit/charge card cover rental cars overseas? Does it cover the specific car model you are renting? (like under $60,000 retail, no Mercedes/Porsche......, under 30 days rental, etc... each card is different)

Also the GPS(if you choose to rent one) is usually not covered by rental car insurance.
