auto racing experience in or around Reutlingen, Germany

My husband would love to have an experience as a race car driver. Is there such a place in Reutlingen, Germany?

There is a formula 1 track at Hockenheim, a little ways south of Heidelberg and Mannheim. Why don%26#39;t you use an internet search engine to see if it is possble to drive on it, and if they have cars or a driving school there that he could use. Otherwise, don%26#39;t know of any other places that might be close.

Make sure to visit the fairytale-like Lichtenstein castle which is close to Reutlingen. Bad Urach is a pleasant valley town nearby, as is Hohenneuffen, the largest castle ruins of the Schwaebische Alb with its nice views and good restaurant.

I%26#39;ll add a few things. Your husband wll love the Mercedes Benz museum in Stuttgart, and you also should enjoy it. As he appears to be interested in racing, he would also enjoy the much smaller current Porsche museum. You can make advanced arrangements to visit the Porsche plant and the Mercedes Benz assembly plant in nearby Sindelfingen, and also with advance arrangements with the MB museum to visit its Untertuerkheim motor plant. Again, do an internet search for a US site that discusses taking delivery of a new Mercedes or Porsche in Germany as these tours are usually given as part of these programs.

Two other good places to visit close to Reutlingen, another fairytale-like castle, Hohenzollern (Hechingen), and the old university town of Tuebingen with excellently preserved medieval Bebenhausen monastery just north of it.

If you want to do shopping, Metzingen is nearby with the most factory outlets in Germany. www.metzingen.de
