My friend lands in Munich around 3. He needs to know how to get from the airport to the train station. Is there a train station at the airport? He is going to Florence.

There is a S-Bahn (suburban tgrain) station in the airport. The S-Bahn rund frequently and will take your friend to the main station (Muenchen Hbf.)

Normal place to change for this route will be München Ost (Munich East) station, not München Hbf (main railway station).

Actually looks like he should change from the S-Bahn to the train in Munich Hbf. At least that is what the website shows. I really appreciate this information! Thanks again.

You can also get from the Munchen airport to the Haupbahnhof on S-1.. However, I always take S-8 myself. I think it%26#39;s about 5 mins faster.

If you go to this link and click on Local Maps you can access a good map that shows the layout of the transit system. What really helped me was knowing what stops are just before I need to get off.
