I am wondering how easy it is to get from Schonenfield airport to the centre of Berlin by train or S-bahn.
Any advice on what train to catch or how easy it is to catch the train or bus knowing little German would be great Thanks

Its fairly easy... the S9 I think goes to the airport. The train station is a 5 min walk from the terminal. The total time from the terminal to the city center will be approximately an hour and half. There are some buses too. Public transport in Berlin is excellent. This is very doable, as long as you dont have too much luggage.
If you are considering a cab, it will cost about 35 -40 euro to city center west.
English is very commonly understood in Berlin.

From the Schönefeld airport you could either catch the airport express (regional train) or the S-Bahn. The airport express is quicker to the city centre as it has less stops but if you just missed one than just take the S-Bahn.
