Hi, sorry but how long are the queues for the reichstag? did I read that if you have children you can go in by a different door? How old/young would the children have to be...my youngest is 8. I wd like to go cos a friend of ours helped design and build the glass dome. Thanks

The Bundestag page says the exception is for %26quot;parents with baby carriage%26quot;.
Other ideas:
Early morning (the dome opens at 8am) or late in the evening (last entrance is 10 pm, but the dome is open till midnight).
Or book a guided tour of the Reichstag (anyway interesting).

At the end of these tours you can do an %26quot;Unaccompanied visit to the dome if desired%26quot;. There is an extra lift up to the dome without any queues.

I got there at 8:30 AM when I was in Berlin last month. There were no lines when I got there. On the way down about 9:15-9:30 there was a long line.
I%26#39;d gone by at different times during the day the previous days and the wait looked to be about an hour. There was a sign that said it was 30 minutes from that point and it stretched beyond that considerably.

- very early in the morning or early evening;
- reserving a place at the Reichstag restaurant used to help (I don%26#39;t know if it still does) - you would get through the lift for disabled/parents with a baby pram, etc.:

Yes, reserving at restaurant still works but you have to eat there too then! We were there Easter week (group booked in for 1pm); long queue when we arrived, much shorter queue when we left (4pm-ish).
Last Sept I went with 2 friends at lunchtime on a Sunday and we didn%26#39;t have to queue long. In fact we weren%26#39;t planning to go up as we were expecting to see a long queue and when it turned out there wasn%26#39;t one, we did.
