Hi.
God willing, I%26#39;ll be spending 6 weeks next year working (unpaid) in Heidelberg.
I%26#39;m still trying to organize the before and after but one thought was to arrive in Heidelberg from Vienna in mid-May and to leave from Munich in early July. Not saying these are the best routes into/out of Heidelberg but they%26#39;re my holiday bits at either end.
I%26#39;m getting thoroughly confused trying to work out these routes.
I was assuming rail would be easiest but I%26#39;ve got entangled in the DB site. I%26#39;m trying to work out if I can get a Bahncard 25 and if so, what the prices would be for those journeys. (I know it%26#39;s early for next year%26#39;s prices but I somehow can%26#39;t work out this year%26#39;s + Bahncard).
Can anyone help, please?
Thankyou.

You could fly from Vienna to Stuttgart with GermanWings www.germanwings.com , probably paying only fees and 0 euros for the ticket. If you go to their website, you can sign up to be advised of their specials such as the frequent 0 or 1 euro offers. Then between Stuttgart and Heidelberg you could use the Baden-Wuerttemberg train ticket if it is cheapest.
If you travel by train beween Heidelberg and Munich on a weekend, then you could use the %26quot;beautiful weekend%26quot; ticket which covers all of Germany. Both of the described train tickets have some restrictions including using only the slower regional trains, not the much quicker ICE%26#39;s.

Check airberlin.com for flights from Vienna to Frankfurt (from €19 one-way). There are several direct train connections to Heidelberg from Frankfurt airport. It%26#39;s about a 35mins ride from the airport.
