Hi all, what%26#39;s the cheapest way to get from Frankfurt to Berlin? So far return train tickets are 200 euros - seems like it%26#39;s a lot of cash!!! Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you!

From 10. June on there will be also a new special tickets offer available for domestic trips. However so far only press releases - no details on the homepage of DB.

%26quot;What%26#39;s the cheapest way to get from Frankfurt to Berlin?%26quot;

The Happy Weekend Ticket. It%26#39;s 66 Euros total, round trip, for a group of 1-5 people. You must travel on Sat or Sun on the regional trains. Journey is about 8 hours with 3-4 changes of train on these trains. Not the most convenient, but you asked for the cheapest. From the DB website:

Happy-Weekend-Ticket

Valid for up to 5 persons travelling together and for parents travelling with their children aged 14 or younger on Saturdays or Sundays between 0:00 a.m. (midnight) until 3 a.m. of the following day for only EUR 33 if you buy your ticket online. (You can also buy it for the same price from DB ticket machines.)

If you search an itinerary at www.bahn.de, specify %26quot;only local transport%26quot; to find the regional train connections.

There is also a bus from Berlin to Frankfurt and the other way round. You could check out http://www.berlinlinienbus.de/ for timetable and prices.
