Train Station

I am thinking of making Hohenschwangau my base for the area castles. Is there a train station here? I will be coming from Munich, then leaving to go to Zurich (possibly, if easily accessible by train).

Is it easy to get around the Hohenschwangau area, as I will be relying upon local transportation?

Also, how easy is it to get to Linderhof from this area?

Hohenschwangau is well connected by public transport. Train to Füssen from there a short hop by bus.

Linderhof by train from Hohenschwangau is not possible. If you go to the link that abalada suggested, or go to www.bahn.de and go to the international section and type in Hohenschwangau (dept) and Linderhof (arr), it will tell you the buses that you can take. If you click on %26quot;details for all%26quot; it will show you the start and stop times for each bus, and if you click on the underlined bus number, it will give you a detailed list of stops and times.

Basically, by bus, it is about a 2 1/2hr trip. By car, it is much more direct and is about 40-45 minutes.
