Hi
We have a vintage VW camper and intend touring Western/Southern Germany for 2 weeks at the end of August or beginning of September.
Or basic route is
Holland to Nurnberg
Banburg?
Munich
Chiemsee
Berchtesgaden
Bodensee/Konstanz
Heidelberg
Worms / Weinstrasse
Holland
I have ha few questions about travelling round Germany in our camper...
where do we stay?... do we have to find a camp-site each night?
what is the law for sleeping in your vehicle?
any recommendations for places to stay/park en-route from Black Forest to Lake Konstanz?
any thing you think we have to see, shouldn%26#39;t miss and is not too far out of our loop, please suggest.
many thanks!!!
SB
many thank

I can%26#39;t believe I%26#39;m helping Dutch campers with an itinerary thru Germany ;-) Just kidding...
The logical route would be: NL to Bamberg - Nuremberg - Munich - Chiemsee- Berchtesgaden - Lake of Constance (focus on Lindau, Friedrichshafen and Meersburg. Constance itself is a nice town but the view is much more spectacular from the northern shore) - drive thru Black Forrest to Speyer and Weintrasse (Speyer is much more exciting than Worms. Weinstrasse is best between Edenkoben and Bad Dürkheim - then Heidelberg and back home.
From Berchtesgaden to Bregenz (lake of Constance) you could take the Austrian Inntal Autobahn (pay road though). The drive to the Inn valley is spectacular plus you could stop at Innsbruck. Gas is cheaper in Austria than in Germany, too.

%26gt;do we have to find a camp-site each night? what is the law for sleeping in your vehicle?%26lt;
%26quot;Wild camping%26quot; is just allowed for non-motorized campers and for one night only. But if you stick to public parkings, e.g. hiker%26#39;s parkings (Wandererparkplatz) and leave them clean and tidy , usually no one will object.
