Frankfurt to Heidelberg

Hi,

%26#39;We will be arriving in Frankfurt (Main) at 9:15am on Saturday and plan to head straight to Heidelberg via train. Do we need to buy tickets in advance, or is it better to buy once we get there?

Thanks!

No need to buy tickets in advance.

DB timetable

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/e

From: FRA airport

To: Mannheim

To: Heidelberg

Buy at Frankfurt Airport just tickets to Mannheim.

In Mannheim, where you have to change anyway buy a %26quot;VRN Ticket 24 PLUS%26quot; price level 4-5 for EUR 13,50 from one of the ticket machines there. This is a mini group ticket (2-5 persons), normally for 24 hours, but if bought on a Saturday it%26#39;s valid till Monday 3am. This ticket covers the really frequent S-Bahn and regional trains (RB,RE) from Mannheim to Heidelberg. It covers also the trams and buses in Heidelberg.
