Stein Am Rhein to Konstanz

Myself and my boyfriend are visiting Konstanz in Sep. We will be coming to Konstanz from Zurich but wish to visit Stein am Rhein on the way. we will get to Stein am rhein by train, I was wondering if there is a boat service from Stein am Rhein to Konstanz or is it better to get the train? If anyone has any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

A good idea in my view.

There is a boat dep. in Stein am Rhein at 17:15 arr. in Konstanz at 19:35.
