1st class train to Munich. Is it worth it?

Travelling from Venice to Munich in July. Wondered if we should upgrade to the 1st class train ticket. Anyone have advise on this?

The price is higher by 50-60% and you don%26#39;t get a lot more comfort for that. But it%26#39;s your money and your decision.

Save your money and buy a reservation instead. In First Class you%26#39;ll find businessmen travelling on the company dime and tourists on railpasses. In Second Class you%26#39;ll find the people that will make your trip memorable... the Europeans.

Take the money you save and go out for a nice meal in Venice or

Munich.

Ditto on the reservation. We sure needed our last year.

We usually sit in First Class because of the Railpass, but find that second class is just fine too. But yes, do get that reservation! We travelled from Mannheim to Munich without one with luggage and were so so sorry, though the German businessmen on the train were very kind in helping me find a place to stow my bags on a very crowded train at morning rush hour! Enoy Munich......we love it!
