Any suggestions for a nice place to have dinner while I%26#39;m between trains in Munich?

The Augustiner Keller is a very short taxi ride, or walk - located on Arnulf Strasse. The locals favorite bier and roasted chicken, plus a great atmosphere.

The name of the beer hall escapes me as I write this. However, if you cross the street from the main station and walk in front of the Hotel Ludwig that will lead you in the correct direction. The hall will be two long blocks from the hotel. Great beer, and great food.

We were just there and we walked from the train station to Augustiner Keller. It is about a 10 minute walk towards Marienplatz. It has excellent food and a very nice atmosphere, and the beer ain%26#39;t bad either!

And they were right!
We spent a noisy Saturday night here waiting for our night train, and it was a great experience - the biggest beer garden I%26#39;ve ever been in in my life.
The food was ok, beer was fine, service exceptionally quick given the ridiculous size of the place, and entertainment provided by singing customers priceless.

Are kids allowed on Saturday nights? Mine are 13 %26amp; 15.

yes, kids are always allowed in when accompanied by an adult.

A correction to transatlanticwedplan:
There are two Augustiner! He went to the one in Kaufingerstrasse, but the one with the big beergarden is in Arnulfstrasse, which is West of the Hauptbahnhof, approx. 10 minutes walk.
I would recommend the second. In case of rain, it also has a restaurant.
